Good example of how "familarity is NOT understanding". Many investors invest into things from "hearsay" or things they think they understand but are just familiar with because they have heard of the company.

The telecommunications industry is highly competitive and the companies do not have a wide economic moat against each other. It provides service to the local market which is small. There are many other industries and markets to choose from with much easier decisions for investments in my humble opinion.

As Warren Buffett always say "stick to your circle of competence"

Sector is highly competive. A few years ago, M1 delisted. Singtel share price also hasnt been well....
