Depends on level of interaction desired

Personally I would invest in dividend stocks/ETFs as dividends are not taxable in Singapore, unlike rental income. There are quite a few good options on SGX including the STI ETFs.

With a property, you also have to be mindful of other costs besides just the purchase price (eg. maintenance, utility, etc), some of which are recurring too.
