Should I invest my short term savings funds (say need to fund in 5-10 years), or should it be park in the bank?

Which is a better option? Is the risk worth it?

For short term funds, you should put it in short term bonds or fixed deposit where it is more liquid.

That will depends on what you need this short terms avings funds for? Are the emergency funds or just special savings.

If these savings are something that you cannot lose in the next 5 years, I would suggest that you either invest them in SSB or keep in high interest bearing bank accounts. Do not risk them by investing into some risky.

10 years in relatively long, hence u can consider put into investment like equities as it provide enough runway for the volatility to recover.
If it's 5 years, u probably can consider less volatile investment like bonds or single premium endowment.

You can invest it, but conservatively. And when that 5-10 years becomes 3 years away, you should be slowly converting them to guaranteed.

I'd probably hold at max 20-50% in Equities, 10-20% in Commodities, and about 30-50% in Fixed Income.
