Seedly article by Joel Koh mentions IBKR SG acc customers are covered by SIPC insurance for up to US$500k for securities and cash (including a US$250k limit for cash only). Is this info accurate?

IBKR SG is not a member of SIPC, but operate under MAS CMS licence.​​​

If I'm not mistaken, SIPC coverage only applies to IBKR US but not its subsidiaries (like IBKR SG).

That said, it's not a big deal for me as most SG brokers aren't covered by any SIPC equivalents anyways.
