Does anybody know if the discount is the same if you pay at the counter than pay at the pump? I believe if you pay at the pump, the discount applied is less. Does anyone know for sure?

The applied discount is the same since it is tagged to your loyalty card (if any) and credit card.

Hi anon,
While I don't drive and haven't had to make any payment for fuel, I combed through the various fuel companies' websites just a few days ago to compile the various credit card discounts.
There was a particular criterion that puzzled me a little (didn't know you could pay at the pump), but it might explain any discrepancy you've experienced? Apparently, the Caltex discounts for HSBC differs depending on whether it's indoors or outdoor payment. So far, this was the only instance I've encountered, not sure if the others are hidden in their T&Cs.
Plus, some of the discounts may also specify whether contactless payments are eligible, so it's best to check out the fine prints before you pay even though it's a little troublesome!
