Is Salesforce a good buy? Salesforce to buy Slack in US$27.7b megadeal. I think it might be a good boost for their company, especially since Slack is increasinly commonly used?

On the acquisition of slack, the pros would be
1) integration of data between slack and salesforce, allows salesforce to become even better at understanding what their customers want

2) cross selling of solutions, slack would probably have access to salesforce’s customers and the integration would probably be cross sell to existing customers
Vice versa, slack would probably cross sell salesforce crm solutions to their existing customers. The products should become even stickier.

The cons:
1) culture clashes, which is usually unlikely but still possible...

2) problem with monetization for slack. Slack’s business model puts a limit of messages that can be retrieved for free users, and if one wants a premium solution, they have to pay based on headcount, which is quite expensive. It would be keen to see whether the business model changes, but for now most people or companies are using jt for free.
