Is it worth spending 8.5k for cataract surgery at a private clinic? Single eye.?

25 male
Diagnosed with cataract in the right eye in May this year
Surgery scheduled for upcoming Fri but it's very expensive (>$8.5k) so I'm having second thoughts
The doctor is great, but I don't know if it's worth the price when I could go to a public hospital (eg. SNEC) and get it done by a senior doctor for less than half the price
Toric lens (not suitable for multifocal due to LASIK)

Would love to get feedback from anyone who has been through similar dilemmas.

Do check with your insurer if you are able to claim the full amount. Insurers are getting tighter on claims.

I am facing issues with my insurer with claims for Toric lens. They would only allow full claims for non-toric lens.

As a fresh grad, earning about $2.8k with a monthly spending of $1.2k and travels about once a year, I am looking to sign u for AMEX True Cashback card. Is it better as compared to POSB everyday?
