Is it a good idea to buy a fixed indexed annuity that tracks the S&P500?
And where can I purchase such a product? as i have searched through some of the insurance company's website and cannot find this product

Hey Anon, it's a great idea looking for a capital guaranteed index/variable annuity in this volatile market. You get full upside potential with 0 downside as you'll at least get back your premiums paid even if markets don't do well.
There are S&P 500 linked index annuities available in the Hong Kong market which I do have access to as an intermediary but travelling will be the concern. Across our shores in Malaysia they do have one as well.
In Singapore however, the best we have is HSBC Life's Variable Annuity policy.
You get access to a low cost Balanced Risk:
50% Equity (S&P 500, NASDAQ, EuroStoxx 50, Nikkei 225, Hang Seng Index)
50% Bond (US Treasury 5,10,30Y, German Govt Bonds 5,10,30Y, Japan Govt Bond 10Y, Canadian Govt Bond 10Y, UK Gilts 10Y)
portfolio with lock in guaranteed payouts even if markets fall during the payout period.
Here are some screenshots to explain further how this would work for a stream of income during retirement.
