Is critical illness insurance necessary? Seems like they are for deep stage illness. Company is offering a group plan for a few hundreds. Thinking to buy.

Is there coverage for Early Critical Illness (ECI)? ECI is good as once one is diagnosed in the early stages, one can claim the coverage already. I would say that CI's payout is more to cover on the long-term medical costs whereas ECI would be focused more on the short-term medical costs + the few months you need to tide through in order to re-enter the workforce.

Good to obtain more info of the CI. i.e. is it part of a term or whole life plan
