Balances refers to your account balances and don't include margin requirements.

Position refers to the investment you are holding.

Equity w/loan refers to total cash and investment values.

Initial margin refers to the minimum amount of equity required for a new investment.

Maintenance margin refers to the minimum amount of equity required to maintain your investment holdings.
