If you do not have a child yet or not planning to have one, why would you not want to have a child?

Is it due to the commitments and finances needed to raise a child?

Haha nowdays kids blame parents for bringing them into this world without their permissions, despite how much you already give them. so if I go back in time, I might think twice. Now having three kids already, so there is no turning back

Money and time.

The world is going downhill.

Environmental degradation.

Sandwich generation (related to money and time)

Life is stressful enough as it is.

Don't want to be put through the school system again (this time, as a parent)

Insufficient confidence in the relationship,

incase things go sour its easy to split if the couple do not have kids

There's no such thing as ROI when it comes to kids, it's simply having a family to come home to, having another generation to inspire and generally having fun. No doubt there are tough times, I nearly lost my second child, he was a premmie. But I think it brought out a better side of me through the journey. Understand that this is a finance based forum, but I think not everything can be quantified by dollars and cents.

Finances for sure, personally i'm making sure my kids are able to stay competitive (if they want to)...
