If I’m using a custodian broker (Saxo), do I need to take into account T+2 when trying to purchase shares before the XD?

I’m led to believe I can purchase shares 1 day before XD and can still receive my dividends. Correct me if I’m wrong, please. Thanks!

I only know, as long as CDP or the company accountant recognise you own the shares, you will get paid the dividend. Hence my broker tells me, as long as I buy within CD and sell when it shows XD, I will get the dividend.
