Shouldn’t she have a copy of her own especially when it comes to confidentiality information like this?

Hi Anon, it's likely that when you first signed the contract, they did not make a copy of it for themselves or they did not make 2 originals, one for you and one for the company. It's possible because the process might not be that established in a startup.
Well I don't think you are legally obliged to provide to them since you have already terminated contract with them, but you can provide out of goodwill. If possible, ask them to send you an email to request for it and ask them if you can provide a photocopy version of it instead of giving them your original. You should always have an original on your side.

My guess is that since it is a startup, there could be some processes not done properly, and your employment contract could have been misplaced.
I would suggest that you could send a softcopy over out of goodwill on the condition that their HR contact you requesting for it. Ideally, the email should also explain why they need it. Never ever send over your original hardcopy. You will never know what they might want to do with it.
