I have 2800 to DCA per month. Should i invest with stashaway and syfe or invest in US stocks?

Ive been doing DCA for 2 months...$1500 into Stashaway (36% risk), $300 into Syfe REIT+ and $1000 into Syfe Equity100.

Friends have recommended to put more money into US stocks or ETF like ARKK or QQQ or even S&P 500. Any advice?

Hi Anon,

I think it's important to ask yourself whether you agree with your friends' opinions to invest more into the US market. For that, some questions you may need to answer include:

  • What % exposure do you currently have to the US market from your SA and Syfe portfolios?

  • Do you think the US will continue to grow in a similar way as it has over the past few decades?

  • Do you think the % exposure you currently have is too much/little based on your sentiments for the US market?

Personally, I'd think that between your SA and Syfe portfolios, you have enough exposure to US large-cap equities. There's definitely an argument to hold ARKK, so if that's something you're into, by all means, DIY into that. But QQQ/S&P 500 ETFs will heavily overlap with what you're already invested in with your Robos. If you want more exposure to US, you can consider small-cap ETFs instead because they're often underweighted in Robo portfolios. Otherwise, you may want to diversify into other emerging industries/markets instead to better diversify your portfolio.

Whatever you end up deciding to do, I think it's important that you come to a conclusion on your own rather than just listening to what other people say, whether they are your friends or people from the Seedly community. Take everything with a grain of salt, do some homework/studying and see if whatever they say resonates with you, and do what you think is best.

Hope this helps & all the best!
