I feel very confused about my situation. I find myself comparing with peers around my age where they are striving, holding fancy job titles.

I am happy with my simple job (not stressful, no work anxiety) with decent salary but my job title palesssss in comparison. Should I quit my job to climb the coporate ladder instead of just staying where i am where i'm happy and contented????

Job satisfaction is something simple yet difficult to obtain, so stay where you are and re-evaluate your working life, see if you feel good or miserable about it.

With great pay and title, comes the hidden swords of stress and bad lifestyles.

Let me share a personal story. I had just moved into a new role and the title was not "impressive". I raised the concern with my boss and told him that the customers may not take me seriously, going by my title. He told me to go ahead and get name cards printed with whatever fancy title I preferred! In fact, there is that old joke about one of the big MNC banks having a role titled "Vice President of Office Communication" while the job involved operating the copier machine! So, my suggestion is to not go by titles; a job title shouldn't define you.

I am in the same situation with you. current job pays me well, office near my place, work life balance.. good number of leave, stable and secured job.

but yet I ask myself the same question every yr (Your question)

But everytime the increment letter comes in, i told me self ok, Mayb stay for another year..... and.. I been staying for 11 yrs!

my point is, if you wanna move ( I think you hv the intentio) just start look around n if can find a job u like or it's your dream job. just go for it!

Btw- climb corporate ladder- doesn't mean your new job u can climb, how do u know if your new place, bosses like you? most of the time, promotion depends on boss!!!

your current job should also give you the opportunity to climb. you should hv 1-1 talk with your boss and discuss with him/her your growth plan instead thinking to climb elsewhere
