I currently own a resale HDB for the past 2 years but I was thinking to get a BTO nearer to my parent's place. When can I BTO again?

Is it after the 5 year MOP or during the 5 MOP as long as the new BTO TOP after my existing MOP period?

Hi, Yes, as a second-time hdb buyer, you can apply for a BTO even though you already own a resale flat. However, you have to ensure that you meet the criteria such as meeting the the 5 Year Minimum Occupation Period. Also, please note that the amount of loans you take can be affected if you decide to buy a BTO flat before selling your current one due to things like Loan-To-Value (LTV), Total Debt Servicing Ratio (TDSR) and Mortgage Servicing Ratio (MSR). On top of that, you will have to pay Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD) of which the percentage varies based on the number of properties you own and your citizenship - but don't worry, you can be eligible for remission if you manage to sell your current flat within 6 months. You have to sell your current flat within 6 months because no one is allowed to own 2 hdb flats.

If your first HDB home is subsidized, you will also need to pay a resale levy to purchase another subsidized housing from HDB - and this Levy differs according to the type of housing you purchase.
