I am a beginner investor who just started investing using a Regular Savings Plan. What can I add to my portfolio along the way?

I am currently investing in FSM One for $500/month on the SPDR STI ETF and $500/month with Syfe's Global ARI and Equity100 portfolios (alternating between the two each month). Currently, I have $2000 in SPDR STI ETF and $1000 in Global ARI and $500 in Equity100 with a long investment horizon in mind. What are some other things I can consider moving towards in future? Should I consider investigating individual stocks (seem like a great deal of legwork needed)?

Start with the simple things

(MSCI World ETF, SP500 ETF, China Total Stock Market ETFs)

Later (but only small % of total portfolio) you could add some more special ETFs.
