Signing on will be the best option plus your contract only last for 5 years. So if you not happy with whatever youre doing can just leave after 5 year, dunnid to renew your contract. Got sign on bonus and with diploma your pay and advancement quite decent also i believe. No matter what you need to serve 2 years or 1 year 10 mo. Just add another 3 years with good pay every year cfm got bonus also.

I commend you both on taking the tougher decision to keep the baby.
Agree too that for now the most practical solution is to sign on as a regular.
This enables you to be financially independent (to a large extend) and relief of stress/es that maybe coming your way.

Having financial stability for the next 2 years will enable your gf to complete her studies as well and maybe embark on a career.

Both your lives are going to be vastly different from your peers. It is hoped that you both are level headed to face the new frontier together.

It will be "tough" and you both will need (hopefully there is) a support system (family, friends) to rally behind you.

It is a possible and wonderful journey; different and unique. Lots of weather through but stay the course. Best wishes.

Not too sure of your family's financial background, but I don't think both of you are ready to be parent as yet. Learn to assume responsibility, build your ability to take good care of yourself and your love ones first, before even thinking about taking care of a baby ! You will start to learn, when you faced reality in life.
