Hmm I think WhatsApp allows you to backup the chats. Go to WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > āChat Backupā to see if youāve updated it recently.
When you download WhatsApp on your android and login with the same mobile number you should be able to access all the chats. If you are unsure which chats/group chats are updated, you can go to WhatsApp > Settings > āStorage and Dataā to see those chats are saved.
Iām just wondering why do you need to downgrade your lifestyle when the stock market is red? Do you not have any emergency funds? The stock market should not correlate with your current lifestyle, as you should only invest what you can afford to put for long term (more than 10 years).
I would suggest for you to build up your emergency fund so that you will not need to downgrade your lifestyle by changing to a cheaper phone.
From a concern ham.

WhatsApp does not have first-party support for transferring data between different platforms (e.g. iOS and Android). To transfer your WhatsApp data from an iPhone to Android, you will have to use paid third-party tools such as WazzapMigrator.
Alternatively you can export your chats to email, but I believe that is a sub-optimal solution. When I moved from iPhone to Android years ago, I paid for WazzapMigrator. And when I moved from Android to iPhone, I paid for another third-party tool. Switching between platforms costs money!
An alternative would be to get your friends and family to move to Telegram. Telegram can import chats from WhatsApp for free, but I think the difficult part is getting people to use it.
