How to apply for a card?

Hi all! I'm just starting a job, and wonder if I'll be able to apply for a card straight after getting my first month's pay? I'm thinking Citi PremierMiles - with a $30,000 limit.

Would like the community's advice on how I can expedite applying and receiving one!

Thanks in advance!

Bests to go for cards that you can maximise the perks of that card.

Rather than to go for a specific credit card, I suggest you find a good bank saving account with good interest rate p.a.. The saving account usually can pair with certain credit cards to enjoy higher interest rate p.a. I personally use OCBC 360 account and pair with OCBC 365 credit card. Do check out UOB one too.

If ure applying for a citi card then it's possible with 1 month's salary (make sure cpf is credited too since it's easiest to use my info to sign up). Most other banks require 3 months. Also use singsaver/moneysmart to apply for a card as someone mentioned below. iirc, the miles don't expire for the card u tagged

If I were you, just getting my first paycheck, I would stick to debit card during my first working year. As it is very easy to get excited with your new financial independence. You might spend in advance, and find yourself living from paycheck to paycheck. A Debit Master/Visa card gives similar perks (maybe not miles and not premier). If you still would like to have a credit card, I would choose one that has perks for young adults' lifestyle. Unless you are really a frequent traveller, flying out twice a month, the miles you collected may expire. You will also need to spend a lot on the card to get the miles points.
