As an individual, you probably should have 1 million to retire comfortably at age 65.

I personally plan to change to part time work at 65 before stopping work completely at 70 years old.

I think "retire well" is subjective for everyone. For me to be debt-free and go around eating all the hawker food I want and having the freedom to do all the free things is enough. Maybe one trip every six months? With that I think $1.5k (current rate) a month is enough.

In current terms, $3k/month per pax should allow a retiree to lead a decent lifestyle. But then again, it really depends on what and how we define "well".

Personally, as a single person, my ideal retirement age is 55yo.

I think as long as loans are paid/self-paying, can go into semi-retriement. I don't think need to go to full blown retirement at most goes back to the workforce anyways due to borderm.

But will say predicted expenses*numbers of years U want to relax without income+buffer, cos retirement is just like retrenchment
