Honest opinion, is it a waste of money for a DINK to own a car in SG? What can be better used with this money instead of getting a car?

I guess for some people, it is. but it depends as well .

Depends, some view that having a car saves time which in a sense saves money.

Bigger house?

Car ownership can be a lifestyle enhancement, but definitely not a need, considering the average spending of $1,500 ~ $2,000 per average car expenses on a monthly basis.

However, this can be offset with activities like Grab car driving, GrabExpress (or courier deliveries), to make full use of the car while travelling from places A to B / C / D, in order to cover for the car's daily expenses (in a way), while providing a 2nd avenue for income sources (besides main daily job).
