Hi everyone, how would you allocate your monthly salary? thanks in advance! ☺️

If let’s say your pay for this month is only $900+ and you have debts to pay, how much you would choose to set aside for meals, transport? And most importantly for emergency funds? to ensure you still have $100+-$300+ to spend on your wants?

Hi there :) It would depend on how much debt you have and how urgently you need to pay it off. It would also depend on how frequently you need to travel and the distance between your places of travel. There are many variables that are unknown to us so it's tough to give you a concrete answer.

However, I'd say the 1st thing to do is to focus on paying off your debts ASAP. Get that out of the way before doing anything else.

Once you've paid off debt, start building 6 months of emergency funds (you'd have to figure out a reasonable monthly expenses for you first).

For meals, it really comes down to how much you're willing to 'suffer'. Assuming you don't eat at home and you really cut: x3 $3 meals / day = about $250 / month minimally. Then add your average transport + phone bill and other needs to that sum and deduct that from $900.

The remainder would be the amount you can allocate to investing and your wants.
