Has COVID-19 dissuaded you from applying for a new credit card?

If so, why? There are some great promotions on-going at the moment.

It depends on your needs. If you find the card to be useful as part of your expenditure needs, then apply. No point otherwise.

I share quality content on estate planning and financial planning here.

Hi Anonymous, the current situation has in fact not been a major factor in my decision to apply credit cards. With or without Covid-19, I feel it is important to be prudent and only spend within your means i.e. not be trigger-happy when using credit cards. And even worse, miss footing any of your monthly bills or waiving off any of the annual fees.

Hence applying the cards to tap on all the attractive bonuses is one, spending on these cards is another. With some financial discipline, applying for new credit cards shouldn't be too much of an issue - especially so if this new card provides a better bang for buck.
