Hi,
We specifcally do not hold commodities as an asset class because we believe in a static asset allocation strategy (holding on to the same ratio of asset class), and over the long run holding on to a commodities portfolio does not perform a reasonable risk-adjusted return.
Some other advisors which believe in a more active/trading approach may use commidities to optimise returns, but it ultimately depends on the skill/luck of the advisors to buy/sell commodities to get higher returns.
Hope this helps!
