Father in Law Move in With Us, How would you handle finances with your spouse?
Due to some illness and Father in law need to move in with us, how would you sort out your finances with your spouse as there is an increase in household expense?
Before this, spouse takes on most of FIL expenses at home. Spouse is WFH most of the time. However FIL does not want to hire a helper, thus spouse suggested he move in with us. So that she can take care of him and supervise him.
Most of the time, we split evenly all expenses at home.

If you are able to manage the expenses going by 50/50 with your wife, i would suggest to stay the same. Your FIL is also half your father now.
But if you feeling very tight on cashflow and unable to sustain the expenses, i would suggest that you talk to your wife and see if she is able to take on a higher portion of the expenses (assuming that she is earning more than you), or see if your FIL can finance a portion of his own expenses from his retirement funds.
Basically it is best to talk this out with your wife if you are really not able to cope with the rising expense.
