I'm still learning how to invest and will be reallocating some of my savings gradually. Also planning to get a house (most likely HDB) in the next 1-2years.

The main benefits they provide are lending facilities that will not be available to retail investors. The financing structures are geared and useful to grow wealth faster, provided that your cash flow is strong.
Structures can be such that capital is guaranteed while exceeding the returns of the S&P500 - but there are risk factors that need to be taken into account before employing such strategies.

Hi anon,
One of the primary differentiators is that through a private/privilege banking, you would have a dedicated banker/RM to serve you, with access to products more customized to your needs than what the retail market can offer. The retail banking market, while having quite a number of products, still remains a market that aims to serve the mass market and mass affluent.
Examples include special structured products, access to institutional level products, better rates on FD, etc. Also not to mention intangible perks like preferential banking hotline where the customer service is pretty much trained to make things happen for you, priority queues for just about anything (at the bank, at an event), etc. You can also speak to them to customized investments according to your preferences, such as exotic payoff profiles for structured products.
These do provide some form of diversifying your investment portfolio. Being a 'member' of premier/private banking, you should also be deep-pocketed enough to weather any storm, or if things don't go your way.
So I'd say, yes, there are some stuff that you can explore via premier banking, which you couldn't otherwise get elsewhere.
