With proper planning, it makes sense. You need to ensure you have sufficient funds for your future house purchase or your child's education. The transfer only goes one way, so it is irreversible.
Once you have done your planning, it makes perfect sense to do the transfer because it is the only risk free 4% investment in the world.

You must know 2 things
β
(1) SA has higher interest than OA(probably thats why you wanna transfer)
(2) OA is more liquid than SA
β
Regarding (2), im sure you know you can use OA for housing, kids education etc. By transfering OA to SA, sure, you get higher interest, but it means you only get the money after 55. So do it only when you dont need your OA for the next 5 to 10 years (transfer is permanent)
β
You may wanna consider voluntarily contribute to SA (up to 7k for own and 7k for fam (irregardless of indiv contributions)). Your returns are 4 percentage points plus the percentage points you save from taxes
