Does anyone know how much miles I must accumulate for 4 business class tickets to Japan?

Hi all, I am a fresh grad looking to get a miles credit card.
I am aiming to save miles for 4 return business class tickets to Japan on SQ.

How many miles are needed, which credit card and how long will it take? My family in total spends about $3k to $4k on credit card each month.

Would buying economy and upgrade to business make more sense? Thank you!

The time required will depend on which card you are using and how much you spend.

Using 4 miles per dollar at an eligible spending of $4k monthly, you will need about half a year for one ticket.

Using the standard 1.2 miles per dollar at an eligible spending of $4k monthly, you will need about 20 months for one ticket.

In most cases, it is of higher value to exchange miles for a business class ticket directly.
