Do you view internships as opportunities or companies milking cheap labour?

I'd like to think that internships are great opportunities and they are, but companies also tend to milk their usage of interns. And for those of us who might need the money, an internship allowance doesn't justify the amount of time and effort we put in...

Definitely opportunities, but you need to dectermine what you want to take away from your internship to make the best out of where you are

If you're a student why do you need the money?

if you need the money then you shouldn't be studying full time in the first place. work full time and start part time instead.

the whole point of internship is apprenticeship. You're technically a newbie that knows nothing.

I do think it's looking at different perspectives and wearing different hat. One gets the mudane work done while the one gets the experience.

Internships with MNCs, usually they are more ethical on their HR practices. I would strongly discourage you to be interns for local SMEs especially family run businesses.
