For instance, the most competitive investment banking internships at "bulge bracket" banks (these are Tier 1 banks like Goldman) want to see previous finance-related internships that you've done. Many applicants to these super competitive roles had to do previous internships at financial institutions, whether smaller investment banks or other finance-related roles to even get their foot in the door. It can sound rather self-defeating (an internship to get another internship?), but with so much competition, that's just the nature of the game.

Wherever you end up, make sure you read up on employment rights for interns in Singapore. It's important to know your labour rights even as an intern.
