US Dividend Withholding Tax - 30% exists we all know.
Does Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, and others have withholding taxes too?
Specifically, I have been looking at Germany,

It seems like there is a withholding tax. I am looking to confirm if it applies to foreigners (Singaporeans) too and how of is it only for residents.

For non-residents who receive dividends, the WHT is in general a lump sum tax, which can only be reduced or refunded under applicable double taxation treaties or EU directives, in each case subject to the German anti-treaty shopping provisions.
If you know of other countries withholding tax policies on dividends pls drop a comment.
If you understand German withholding tax policies better, pls do comment.
Thank you in Advance.
