Class 3 or Class 3A Driver's Licences? School Vs Private Instructors? Cost?

Hi, I'm a current NSF who is saving to get a driver's licence either during my NS or after ORD. But after reading articles, I can't decide on which Class to go for? I know that Auto is easier to learn while Manual is versatile should one decide to drive a manual/auto veh. And then there's learning centre, from what I read, I like the school style of having to complete the quota lessons but like having a single instructor to teach me as he/she is able to know my progress in terms of learning during practicals?

If possible, could you share your experiences in a school/private instructor, going for a Class 3/3A licence, n your suggestion as to what licence I should aim for? As I'm trying to avoid overspending my saving on getting a driver's licence.

Thanks in advance for all your responses. Really appreciate them ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Are you able to learn things quickly and have your own car? if so then do class 3a and private instructor for the quickest and cheapest route. but if you're not that concerned about money and time, you can try class 3 via the school for a better learning experience and it also gives you the flexibility to drive a manual car overseas if need be

If you going to be delivery driver like van, then take Class 3, or if you want to get class 4 etc i think you need class 3 too

Manual is fun, but itโ€™s not that fun to drive on sg road

And oversea rental require class 3 license is no longer the truth, you can rent car with class 3a now (even if you can rent manual car, most likely you wonโ€™t priorize manual over auto)

So, if just wanna go from A to B, and donโ€™t like to understand how a car function, then 3a is enuf, lesser lesson lesser cost

*but manual is easy to pass tho
