Recently just got the dbs altitude card, and wanted to buy something with the in-store 12month instalment plan.
was wondering if the miles can be still collected on the full amount, or it is not considered as an eligible transaction?
and also is there any difference if i use the dbs preferred instalment plan or something?

Usually IPP at store doesn't earn points/ miles, but DBS/ Citibank has opt-in programmes that convert your purchase into instalments. Alternatively, other Buy Now Pay Later platforms like ATOME does allow you to earn based on their MCC codes.

Generally, in-store installment plans do not earn miles or rewards points on the full amount of the purchase. Instead, you would typically only earn rewards on the amount that is charged to your credit card at the time of purchase. This is because the remainder of the purchase is charged to your card over time, as you make the installment payments.
However, different banks and merchants may have different policies regarding the eligibility of in-store installment plan transactions for rewards points or miles. I would recommend checking with your credit card provider or the merchant where you plan to make your purchase to confirm their specific policy.
Regarding the DBS Preferred Payment Plan, it is a type of installment plan offered by DBS that allows you to convert your eligible purchases into interest-free monthly installment payments. Depending on the terms and conditions of your credit card and the merchant, you may be eligible to earn miles or rewards points on the full amount of the purchase when you use the DBS Preferred Payment Plan. Again, I recommend checking with your credit card provider or the merchant for specific details.
