The Amex Platinum charge card is not one for collecting miles, the earn rate is terrible.
However, if you can afford that, then the Voyage card is within reach.
Platinum's benefits are quite simply, ridiculous (then again, so is the fee).

Voyage card earns a very unique currency, with a very unique feature when it comes to redemption, as detailed here:

You can hold both. Amex for the perks, and Voyage for the miles earn. Combined, that will give you a very enhanced travel experience.

It depends on your spending habits and spending powers. Amex Plat card is the better card of course.

Amex plantinum is a better card. Despite its high sign up fee, the bonus it accumulates is a lot for the first few thousands spent on it
