Can I buy Careshield supplement coverage from more than one insurer?

Am I only limited to one supplement policy or can I buy a some coverage from Company A and some from Company B for Careshield?

Hi anon,

There isn't anything I have seen that prohibits more than one Careshield supplement, unlike an integrated shield plan (you can only have one of that)

But take note that no matter how many supplementary plans you have, the limit of using $600 per insured per calendar year from your CPF MA to pay for the supplement remains.

So if you bought one plan from company A for $290/yr a year and another from company B for $290/yr, you could still use MA to service the premiums.

Hi,
It depends on which insurer / plan are you looking at. The benefits payout for one of the insurers is not addictive. So if you've purchased the wrong plan, there's no advantage in purchasing more than 1. That is, you might not get the multiple payouts.

Also note that the additional plans you buy has to be paid via cash and no longer deductible from Medisave.

Hope this helps.

I believe you may. buy 1 or 2 or all 3....
