Budget for birthday present for child's friends
SImilar to wedding angbaos, many would probably say "just give what you can afford". Just generally curious as my child starting to get birthday party invites and I want to get a sensing from the community.
What is your general budget for the present? Do you set budget based on the party venue/activities (but hard to predict for condo function room)?
Do you think the parents/kid prefer angbao or present? Haha...

For child, I usually try to buy a gift.
But so difficult to buy a gift that is good value in cost and for the child's fun/learning.
Budget about $25-$30 if I just want to gift the child something. If the venue is fancier about $50

Presents depends on whether the child is male or female and it has to take into consideration the child's age, think these 2 points are important considerations

If is 100th day, 1st birthday, 21st birthday (milestone) then I just give angpao $50. Otherwise, I'll just get him/her a practical gift like $30+ starbucks gift card, movie gift card etc.
