Political risk.
China govt can change the policies anytime and cause the market to crash overnight. They have significant influence over the stock market.

In addition, US always want find trouble with china.

All the biggest institution investors are US firm, blackrock, vanguard... if they dont move thier money to china, its difficult for china stock market.

If you really want to invest in china, treat it as a dividend play & buy at a price with margin of safety, as china stock market may remain stagnent but volatile for quite awhile.
