I do not plan to cash out for the next 5-10 years. I really do not want to have an unpleasant surprise whereby I have to pay say 30% withholding tax, etc. Does that 30% withholding tax apply here in my case even though I am using a roboadvisor?

Hello there! Generally when you receive a dividend, it is usually net of fees, and reinvested into your portfolio. Basically the fund manager will do all the work for you including paying the 30% witholding tax.
