House will be coming in early 2022. I have about $200 to spare monthly to put into investments, which portfolio will be better. I’m very Med risk, Med returns person.

Hi Jean, both platforms have different offerings. At Syfe, you can choose between a Singapore REIT portfolio (Syfe REIT+), a 100% equity portfolio (Syfe Equity100), and a globally diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds, and gold (Global ARI).

Which Syfe portfolio to choose will depend on your risk appetite, investment goals, and time horizon. If you are comfortable with risk and have a relatively long time horizon of more than 5 years, you can consider Equity100 or REIT+.

If you prefer managing your risk, you can consider Global ARI. It has 11 different risk levels to cater to all investors and you can choose a "medium risk" option. For more personalised advice, please speak with our wealth advisors for a free consulation. Hope this helps!

Hi Jean,

Both robo-advisors have very different portfolios. Syfe has 3 different products (one on REITs, and 2 on stocks), while StashAway has different portfolios based on the risk index that you've chosen.

For StashAway, the investment strategy is based on the allocation between stocks and bonds. If you want lower risk, your portfolio will be weighted in bonds, and a higher risk will have a higher weightage in stocks.

Besides considering your risk profile, I would suggest to consider your time horizon and financial goal. What are you trying to save for when you invest?

If you are saving for retirement, you have a longer time horizon and therefore can take slightly more risks.

However, if you are saving for a short term goal (within 1-5years), then you should chose the lowest risk. There may be a chance that the value of your investments may be lower than your initial deposit, at the point in time that you decide to withdraw the investments.
