Had been using IG for a couple of weeks, quite happy using the platform but recently discover an incident, and this incident occur twice in a row. I was unsure if I made a mistake in my 1st trade and I repeat the same.
(I did the trade below twice to confirm if I made any mistake)
I have a stock going long in position and I did a short with 'Net Off'. The parameters as filled ;
Level: 17450 (open position)
Limit: 17050 (close position/target price)
so what happens is that this trade gaps up and open high at 17495, but closed prematurely at 17499 instead, the trades did not meet my target price... and so I lose total 300 shares + the fees for the lose trades.
Overall, I am not sure if there is a 'Software Bug' within the platform or "some trade manipulation" into force selling my trades and bought back at a lower price, that is what my guess are as everything is software controlled.
Replies from IG helpdesk varies as they comes from different personnel and regions, the replies were not assuring for my 2 trades and they did not look into whether the orders were correctly executed...
If anyone has similar encounter please share with us in this platform as this will help give insights for many newbies out there ....thank you.
