YouTrip seems like a good platform for those who often spend money overseas. Who are they backed up by? Are they partnering with any banks?

What if we store money inside then they cease operations like oBike and then cannot get our money back?

YouTrip is partnering with EZ-Link and Mastercard. Copying from our FAQ (https://support.you.co/hc/en-us/articles/360000...):

“All your YouTrip funds are held in segregated bank accounts maintained by EZ-Link Pte Ltd.

EZ-Link Ptd Ltd is the issuer for the YouTrip Card and a licensed Mastercard® prepaid card Stored Value Facility in Singapore.

All your card transactions are processed by the Mastercard network and protected by Mastercard rules and standards.”

In a conclusion, I personally as a consumer will always choose financial product with careful decsison and I would recommend any smart and financially savvy user to do the same for every product, including YouTrip and you should consider the points above. What I would say factually is with YouTrip coming with a physical Mastercard, your money is not as “locked” as an oBike prepaid value. If you don’t see the value or want to finish up all money in YouTrip account, you can just swipe your card in all Mastercard accepting merchant even in Singapkre so you can use up the money inside! Hope it helps!
