With the introduction of CareShield Life, is there any impact for a diabetic person? And should he or she change to CareShield Life from ElderShield?

Trying to understand if my parent should change from ElderShield to CareShield Life. Diabetic and currently not covered by any ISP.

The answer to this is a bit ambiguious. Just like every other insurance, most likely will have to do a checkup before they decide to insure you.

Taken from MOH's website:

Can I join CareShield Life if I have pre-existing medical conditions and/or pre-existing mild/moderate disabilities?

You can join CareShield Life if you are not severely disabled (i.e. unable to perform 3 or more ADLs) when the scheme commences for existing cohorts (born in 1979 or earler) in 2021.

Details of the application process will be provided at a later date. Some applicants may need to undergo a disability assessment. Applicants will be informed if they need a disability assessment.

Here's a pretty comprehensive writeup on CareShield Life.
