Why are there so many lurking financial consultants on Seedly, and is this allowed?

I just realised that there are many financial consultants lurking in every question with links linking back to their own social account. Is this even allowed with every question a hidden marketing?

Whenever there are diligent, passionate, balanced and very trustful 'financial consultants' as, just f.ex.:

Elijah Lee, Independent Financial Advisor at Phillip Securities (Jurong East),

whom I do not know personally,

i feel Seedly is a safe forum and not in need of special regulation in an open society,

as long as we also ... think for of ourselves .... , true ?

I think if you do look at their answers, alot of them are unbiased, and not sales driven.

All do share their view point and also what they think would work best based on their knowledge and also beliefs. Because the more well-informed the public is, the lesser chance we will all get burned wrongly, and make well-informed decisions when it comes to finances and insurance

Community Lead at Seedly

Hi Anon,

Seedly aims to be a platform that provides unbiased financial advice and knowledge.

We do realise that there are many financial consultants and insurance agents on our platform, and often they are trying to get leads as this directly affects their livelihood. However, the Seedly Community Moderation Team will ensure that the advice they provide is purely informational, and sales for specific financial products or services on Seedly will be removed. Social links are allowed, as we believe that our Users deserve the right to easily contact advisors if they need to. We also require Financial Advisors to declare their profession and associations, so that Users will be able to take into account the possible vested interests of these agents.

Moreover, many financial advisors are often on this platform to purely provide unbiased financial advice, and to share their knowledge- simply because they are passionate about personal finance.

Hence, I advise against counting out or ignoring the answers from these financial advisors/insurance agents, they really are knowledgeable in their respective areas, and many do often provide quality answers that shed valuable insight and perspective.

If you do see questions or answers that breach our Community Guidelines, do flag them out using our Flagging System- Community Feedback and help is always appreciated!

We will continue to amend our Guidelines as we grow as a Community, to ensure that we always remain an unbiased site that contains valuable information for all!
