What tips or advice would you give a Teenager looking into investing early on?

Im an 18 year old art student currently in ITE and plan to continue my path into Poly or an art school. I have been interested in investing for quite awhile now as I realise I need to do something about my future, so i've been reading up on some books about it, mostly guides and insights. I plan to start investing as soon as possible, though I do not have a solid income yet, as an art student I plan to use a portion of what I earn through freelance work while studying into investing. Any tips?

Calculator at The Internet

Buy ETF every month

do some roboadvisors or DBS or ocbc monthly investment programs :)

Its the little bit that counts.

that $100 per mth may means not much now... but leave it to grow together and accumulative... :D

If I were you, I will see my Budget, do I need to pay for expenses if not maybe I can put a bit into investment. I recommend stashaway becos of its friendly user interface. stashaway is a roboadvisor which allows to do passive investing( putting money consistency) while learning how to construct your own portfolio. Or u can dictate your own .. as and when u like u can invest. Stashaway can do anything.

hope this help.

Buy ETF monthly

Or if your amount is small, buy ETF every 3 mths or every 6mths.

Google for Interactive brokers forum and read up from there :)

Hi there,

What an imprssive 18 years old you are considering investment ins such young age!

have you consider kristal.AI?

In kristal.AI there is no fees for your first $50,000 investment which makes kristal.AI a great choice for an investment platform, there are no hidden fees or catches! To add to that, you can use our free algorithm feature to get investment advice on asset allocation, and to have a portfolio which fits your profile and suits your needs.

You can Get Advice from proprietary online investment advisor within minutes to create a personalised investment portfolio, designed specifically to meet your investment requirements and investor profile.

I can also suggest you for SIP programm,

SIP (systematic investment plan) on the investment product you wish to invest monthly in. Just select 'Buy' and the option will be offered to you.

If you would like to reinvest in a certain product monthly, you can select Systematic Investment Plan e.g. in Vanguard VTI 'Buy'. Then, when adding in your budget, do allow a 10% - 20% buffer in event the NAV goes up.

We are not a GIRO, so you will need to ensure funds are in your bank before date of trade execution. E.g. Execute trade on 4th. You need to set up standing instructions on 2nd.

For example, if an ETF is USD 40 and the SIP is set for USD 100, we will buy 2 units of the ETF. If the ETF goes up to USD 60, we will only buy 1 unit of the ETF and so on.

The uninvested funding will be shown as your Available Cash instead.

Hope this helps,

Cynthia

How much do you have? Minimum for DCA in STI ETF via RSP is $100. Otherwise can try Robo like Stasha...
