Why do people invest in SSB? Sorry am quite new to the investing scene, and can't seem to understand the appeal that SSB has? Could someone please explain the pros and cons and why it's a good investment to make for a certain demographic?

The SSB is what we call a High Quality Govt Bond. Good for income and capital preservation.

If you're not looking to grow your money but rather preserve it, SSB and other High Quality Govt bonds give you that.

So risk adverse investors or older people who don't have a long term horizon can consider investing in SSBs as they shouldn't or cannot take too much risk and want both capital preservation and liquidity.

SSB is not an investment, it's a saving tool.
Investment come with risk whereas SSB basically has zero risk. Its suitable for ppl who just want to park their money at somewhere provide capital guaranteed.
