What is the most unique and quirky Part-Time job you have done before in your life?

Haha this is interesting! Wouldn't say its quirky, but more of unique because I think it would be rare for secondary school students to experience something like this. For me, I signed up with an agency to be a waiter back then during my secondary school days. After several part time shifts with different hotels, I was offered an "F&B" role in a restaurant in RWS. Thinking that it would be a similar role as a waiter, I agreed and went for the job. At the restaurant, the manager was shocked when he saw a young boy (then) reporting for work as he started telling me more about the role, which was closer to a restaurant cleaner. I was surprised initially, but thought why not try something that I have not tried doing before, and may not get to try again later in my life? Till now, I did not regret my decision because this made me understand and experience the hard work that these cleaners were going through while at their old age (most of them). Despite a few judgemental glances from parents (probably asking their kids to not grow up like me haha) when I was clearing their tables, I did meet a few caring individuals who checked if I was fine and foreigners who even offered to buy me a drink. I would say that this is a unique experience that I would never forget!​​​

I have worked in fast food restaurants, pharmacy in hospital (as a pharmacy assistant), clinic assistant and dental assistant.

Most interesting experience would definitely be working as a dental assistant! It have sparked my interest in dentistry and led me to where am I now! (working in the dental industry) During my time working as a dental assistant I get to learn so much from my bosses! Saw lots of cases and learned how to communicate with people ​​​

How did I miss this one.

Years ago, I did QA testing for a company that supplied the digital bus display signs in buses. The basic idea was to ensure that the displays showed the correct upcoming bus stop. We had a checklist to compare what was displayed against the actual stop. They were testing the GPS, I gather.

The job paid ok but I got to sit in the air conditioned bus the whole day. We'd be assigned to a particular plate number each day (or two or three, depending on route), so I had to board at the terminal and alight at the end destination, wait for the bus driver to finish his break, and then board and return back to the first interchange.

A few times, I lucked out and got a bus which basically had 2-3 stops before hitting the expressway for the next 30 minutes. But I raised the eyebrows of the driver when I boarded again in the opposite direction. He must have thought I was a lost kid.

Wasn't a part-time job but a one-time gig instead. but i worked as a Japanese-English interpreter for the Sake Appreciation Festival once.

the perk of this job was definitely going around the other booths and stuffing myself with sake during the last half-hour. wish there were more gigs like this!
