What are the terms to claim from AXA Shield?

If go annual check-up and tell the doc that I may have experienced some symptoms of Colon related illness and ask for his/her recommendation if I should go for the colonoscopy examination. Under this type of situation, are we allowed to claim from Shield Plan? If yes, does it also cover the pre-admission examination?

Hi Anon

Yes. Colonscopy is considered as day surgery procedures and will be covered under shield plans if it is ordered by your doctor during a consultation.

In addition

AXA shield offers unique value added services for specialist clinic.

This is especially useful if in future you don't have a corporate wellness benefit

There are 400 specialist clinics. Prices are:

(i)Specialist standard consultation at S$100 per consultation

(ii)Follow-up standard consultation at S$70 per consultation

You can also enjoy preferential rates if you are referred by AXA's panel laboratory if you need to do a diagnostic laboratory investigations.

Generally, you need to be confined at the hospital for a minimum of 6 hours before a claim may be admissible under the integrated shield plan. However, you may wish to check and confirm whether colonoscopy is covered under day surgery. If so, there may be some form of coverage from the plan itself.

For the most accurate answer, I will suggest for you to check with your agent. Above all, he should be able to give you the right advice.
