Just download the app from Play or App store, opt for High Quality and your storage will be unlimited and Free. Once you uploaded all of the photo / video, can delete them from your device to save space. When you need to see / extract the photo / video, just go to the Google Photo app or Google photo website on computer internet browser.

It's fast up / download depends on your mobile connections signals / wifi connections.

Since you're in Singapore, it will be always very fast to download. For upload, it's quite decent too but it won't be super fast because our connection is always faster for download than upload.
