What air conditioners or air conditioner brands do you recommend or not recommend?

We got 5 air conditioners altogether

One air con in the living room is linked to another in the master bedroom (One compressor, sys 2)

Another air con in the living room is linked to another 2 smaller rooms (one compressor, sys 3)

Total we need 5 air cons, 2 compressors to cover a total area of 1281 sq feet

My family has very high usage, so the most important criteria is price and energy efficiency (5 ticks).

Thanks in advance!

(Sorry if I made any mistakes in posting its my first time)

Hey Samuel!

I am in the midst of planning my BTO renovation, and aircon is on the list too. I too have asked around, and generally speaking the sentiments are for Mitsubishi and Daikin. But Daikin has been losing popularity - I heard previously they import from Japan, but right now it is made in China. So yeah. But right now, I'm definitely leaning towards Mitsubishi (Starmex I guess).

Mitsubishi and daikin are good air con brands. They are well known for their power efficiency and due to their large distributorship in Singapore, they offer good after services as well

When I did my reno, the aircon uncle mentioned that it has to be Mitsubishi or Daikin. These 2 are the most trusted and reliable brands for aircon, despite the fact that the prices are considered premium compared to other brands.

In terms of energy efficiency, you will never go wrong with 5 tick efficiency airconditioning. Spend more at the initial stage, ultimately you'll get back the ROI in terms of cost savings since your usage is high like you mentioned.

I used to use LG, it didn't last very long! My husband's house uses National, and its been going strong for over 20 years and they hardly service the machines. However, I think National isn't around any more.

The most recommended by shops would be the Japanese brands like Mitshubishi, Daikin and Toshiba.

Hi, where to buy aircon? Retailers or Big stores like Courts, Gain City or Best Denki?

Mitsubishi starmex is the best. Don't get Daikin, my friend's one keeps leaking and its new!

Mitsubishi because of jack neo.... nay. haha (mitsubishi starmex advertisement has jack neo saying how quiet and how easy it is to clean)

anyway I have been using mitshubishi at home and panasonic, LG aircon.

Starmex is really quieter. and its quite easy to clean too.

I believe the energy efficiency of mitsubishi is one of the highest rating too. We want that because a lower energy bill + greener earth

My family uses Daikin! We are heavy AC users (thanks to poor ventilation design from the building developer) and Daikin has never given us much problems. We even do our own cleaning and servicing so it's really easy maintenance!

I have used both mitsubishi and daikin before and both are good! I find mitsubishi quieter though but it may be because my daikin was an older model.

In terms of energy efficiency both should be comparable. Choose the one you prefer and if its the same just choose the cheaper option.

What company did you use for your air conditioning purchase and installation?

Bought from Harvey Norman (which is probably not the cheapest out there) and it came with installation

I'm using Daikin for its power efficiency and the air-con is pretty quiet despite heavy usage. Additionally, it is easy to maintain too! Hence, it might be one that you will like to consider. =)

Here is everything about me and what I do best.
